Position: Clinical Internship, Master’s Level Mental Health
The Outpatient Mental Health Clinical Intern will be provided opportunities to observe and learn diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The intern will complete Comprehensive Evaluations, Intakes, and ongoing clinical work with a wide variety of clientele. The intern will perform individual, couples, family, and group counseling, crisis interventions, consultations, and outreach. The intern’s work is supervised by a fully licensed mental health professional and will directly report to the Clinical Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete Comprehensive Evaluations (Diagnostic Assessments) to discern diagnoses and make appropriate recommendations for ongoing services.
- Meet with clients face-to-face or virtually to provide ongoing individual, couples, family, and group counseling services while maintaining this caseload.
- Complete required record-keeping in the electronic health record and within required timelines.
- Maintain compliance with SCHRC and HIPAA regulations regarding confidentiality of data and records.
- Complete the Integrated Treatment Plan with the client while developing appropriate clinical goals, and review these goals as needed, but at least every 180 days.
- Assist with referrals to services.
- Participate in clinical staff meetings regularly and bring at least one case for consultation to each meeting.
- Provide consultation and recommendations to community agencies and referral agencies.
- Complete mandated reporting of child abuse and vulnerable adult abuse to the appropriate human service agency.
