Bachelors or MSW Foundation Internship – Safe Harbour
SCHRC is a local mental health clinic that provides a comprehensive range of mental health care services for adults and children. We became a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) in 2021 and we employ over 140 staff in 15 programs in Waseca, Steele, and Dodge Counties.
Summary
At South Central Human Relations Center, we provide Bachelor Level Interns an experience that is structured to their needs and allows for direct client experience. Interns will be able to gain knowledge and an understanding of several mental health diagnoses within diverse populations.
Our placement options offer various work schedules with some flexibility, availability to work with different age ranges and different settings, and an opportunity to learn and apply evidence-based interventions.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Report directly to the designated site supervisor for all duties and services provided.
· Participate in assigned training and skill development.
· Provide services to individuals, families, and/or groups in client homes, the community, or the office.
· Attend and participate in regularly scheduled consultation meetings with
· colleagues and treatment teams.
· Develop effective relationships with colleagues, clients, and community service providers.
· Maintain compliance with HRC policies and procedures and HIPAA regulations regarding confidentiality of data and records.
· Perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by supervisors.
· Join in the mission of SCHRC in the communities we serve.
Applicant Specifications
· Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Behavioral Science or related field.
· Meet the basic requirements for relevant coursework and/or training for delivering these services.
· Hold a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automobile insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
· Complete an acceptable criminal background check.
· Fluency in English and another language is a preferred qualification but not required.
Physical Requirements
· Physical ability to move around the office area and in the community throughout each workday.
· Use phones, computers, and basic office technology.
· Some lifting and stair climbing.
· Change from inside/outside work environments in seasonal weather conditions.
